Chelsea FC agree £50m deal for next two January signings – report
Chelsea FC have agreed a £50m double deal to sign Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri from Roma this month, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Blues have agreed a fee with Serie A side Roma for the striker and the left-back as Antonio Conte moves quickly to strengthen his squad in the mid-season window.
The same report says that defender Emerson’s contract is already “sorted” and Dzeko’s representatives flew to London on Monday to finalise terms for the former Manchester City striker’s switch.
It is claimed in the same story that Dzeko had reservations about playing second fiddle to Alvaro Morata at Stamford Bridge but he has been offered assurances about his game-time with the Blues.
The same story says that Chelsea FC have offered Dzeko wages of £120,000 a week to join them this month as Conte looks to add a new striker to his squad.
The article says that Dzeko is valued at around £30m in the deal, with Roma potentially getting a further £10m in add-ons.
Meanwhile, Conte is currently preparing his side for the return leg of their League Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
