Deji Adeyanju drags President Buhari to court over appointment of Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar as NIA Boss
Co-convener of the civil society group, "Concerned Nigerians", Deji Adeyanju, has filed a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Abuja against President Buhari, over the recent appointment of Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar as the substantial Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
Recall that on January 11th this year, President Buhari appointed Abubakar to head the Nigerian apex intelligence agency. Criticisms trailed the competence of Abubakar.
Sahara Reporters alleged that the new NIA boss was forced out of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) for allegedly failing two promotion exams and that he is also the Arabic and french translator of the President.
Adeyanju says President Buhari did not comply with Federal Character as stipulated in Section 14 (3) of our constitution. He says all the security heads appointed by President are all from the North. See copies of the court papers filed yesterday Friday January 19th below
