PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYERS WHO COULD BE ON THE MOVE THIS JANUARY
Reports that West Ham United have reached an agreement with Inter Milan for the loan signing of Joao Mario has sparked a massive response on social media.
The January transfer window has been open for well over three weeks but the Hammers are yet to make a significant signing despite being linked with moves for Mohamed Elneny, Leander Dendoncker, Jonjo Shelvey and Marouane Fellaini among many more.
Judging by that list of players it would appear that bolstering the centre-midfield options at the club is a priority for David Moyes, and with deadline day fast approaching reports on Wednesday afternoon are all pointing towards his first signing as United boss being rather imminent.
According to the Guardian, the Irons have agreed to sign Joao Mario on loan for the remainder of the season and even hold the option to sign the Portugal international on a permanent basis in the summer should he impress at the London Stadium.
Following injuries to Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini against Bournemouth last weekend, United's need for a creative midfielder has just increased and the report states that Joao Mario should sign his loan contract very soon.
A big-money signing from Sporting Club in the summer of 2016 after playing a huge role in Portugal's European Championships success a few weeks prior, the 26-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular place in the Inter side and looks set to depart in order to keep hopes of making the World Cup squad alive.
The midfielder has made just 15 appearances in the top flight of Italian football so far this season - many of those as a substitute - managing to weigh in with a respectable five assists and his possible arrival in East London has got supporters talking.
